3 Ways To Get Comfortable Getting Feedback On Your Singing

Action, consistency, feedback.

Those are the 3 key elements you need to drastically improve your singing voice.

And while most singers are great at nailing down the first two parts (action and consistency)...

It’s the feedback part they usually tend to skimp out on.

And that’s usually because they are afraid of what other people might think.

Especially if the people you are singing in front of, are people you hold to a high regard…

Like your choir director or family.

Doesn’t matter how much you practice…

How long you’ve been doing it for…

How good you think you sound…

There’s nothing more nerve-wracking than asking for feedback

Especially if this is a side of you, the world hasn’t really seen before…

Which is why it’s SO important to find a community where you feel safe and supported. Something we’ve worked hard to create inside my Love Your Voice Course

But if that’s not in your budget, here are some other ways to help you get more comfortable with getting feedback on your singing voice:

  1. Take voice lessons - depending on where you live and your budget, lesson rates may vary anywhere between $50-200+/hour (especially if you live near a big city like New York, Nashville, or LA).

Your vocal coach is a singer’s trusted companion.

Someone who (if they’re doing their job right) should make you feel comfortable enough to try new things and make mistakes without worrying about being judged or laughed at.

Most singers who train with us at my studio, Songbird Studios, stick with us for YEARS because of this very reason.

So if you have the time and the budget, and you’re serious about improving your voice, a vocal coach might be a great option for you.

  1. And if vocal lessons aren’t in your budget right now, karaoke is another fun and low-stress way to get some stage practice in without worrying about being judged or criticized by your crowd.

  1. Ok ok, I get it. Karaoke is NOT for every singer, lol.

So if that’s the case, and you’re looking for another way to become a more confident singer and improve your singing voice…

I mean, you can’t go wrong with the Singing / Straw™ ;)

It’s much more cost-affordable than what most vocal coaches charge…

AND you won’t have to worry about slipping on a puddle of beer before you hit the stage 😁

So there you have it.
